Anemia is a decrease in number of red blood cells(RBCs) or less than the normal quantity of hemoglobin in the blood.The blood is deficient in red blood cells(RBC's) or the hemoglobin( iron-contanining )portion of RBC's.The primary function of the RBC's is to transport oxygen from the lungs to the cells of the body in exchange for carbon dioxide.Because the cells have less oxygen availble to them,they have less energy to perform their normal functions.Hence you have pale appearance,and you always feel tired.Severe anemia can even cause a heart disorder.
